Forget Me Not OT LLC is a team of dedicated people who are passionate about helping children thrive. Our mission is to provide personalized and effective therapy services that support our client's development and well-being. With a focus on individualized care, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children and families we work with.
OUR APPROACH
Providing Individualized Care
At Forget Me Not OT LLC, we believe in a holistic approach to pediatric occupational therapy. We integrate each family's concerns into our therapy services, ensuring that each child receives comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. This includes collaborating with families during each session to make sure we are providing well-rounded and individualized therapy. We ultimately aim to make a positive impact on each child's lives and strive to empower them to reach their full potential!
Our Team
Courtney Gerken, OTR/L
Courtney is the owner and founding occupational therapist at Forget Me Not OT LLC. She graduated with her degree in occupational therapy from Colorado State University in 2018 and has been working in pediatrics ever since in community settings, outpatient pediatric therapy, and in schools. She works with children of all ages and ability levels. Her experience includes, but is not limited to supporting children and families with difficulty with emotional regulation and behavior management, sensory processing concerns, picky eating, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, bilateral motor coordination skills, self-regulation, executive functioning, activities of daily living, high school transition skills including independent living and pre-employment skills, self-care skills, shoe tying, and recreational activities including bike riding, skiing, rock climbing, and more! When she is not working or injured, you can find her sea kayaking, whitewater kayaking, skiing, rock climbing, or running on the trails.
Sarah Liebe, OTR/L
Sarah graduated with her Master's of Occupational Therapy in 2021 from Radford University. She is passionate about working with pediatric populations and collaborating with families to come up with strategies to promote growth in all aspects of life. She has completed additional education in a variety of areas including sensory integration, feeding, regulation, visual vestibular processing, and therapeutic listening. She enjoys working with children who have feeding difficulty, tactile defensiveness, coordination disorder, visual vestibular processing differences, dysgraphia, regulation difficulty, and executive dysfunction. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities that she can do with her Australian Shepherd, Ollie, who loves backcountry skiing, paddleboarding, and backpacking.
Marieven Laurio, OTR/L
Marieven (Mari) graduated with her Master's of Occupational Therapy in 2013 from Eastern Washington University. She was born and raised in Alaska and recently moved to Anchorage from Soldotna. She has a wealth of knowledge and a lot of experience in pediatrics. She is especially interested in working with families regarding feeding concerns. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Jennifer Minderlein
Jen is the expert for all things billing! She has over a decade of experience and owns her own billing practice called Birch Tree Billing Services. Forget Me Not OT LLC contracts her company for insurance billing support. When she is not punching the numbers, you can find her spending time with her family, cooking, baking, crafting, completing triathlons, and biking year round! Malaea Hughes
Meet Malaea, our administrative assistant! She is a third-year student at UAA, studying kinesiology to help her eventually earn her graduate degree in occupational therapy. She was born and raised in Alaska, and she loves doing all things outdoors, such as hiking, skiing, and snowmachining. She also enjoys volunteering with Challenge Alaska. She gravitated towards this career path through personal and family experience; not only is her aunt an OT, but her cousin also received OT services due to a sudden illness. As per Malaea, she is excited to see where this career takes her and grow with the challenges that she faces!
Annika Ligon
Annika completed a 12-week-long fieldwork from August through November of 2025 at Forget Me Not OT LLC! She is currently working toward her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University. Before this, she received her B.S. in Exercise Science at the University of Vermont. When she is not studying, she enjoys biking, hiking, backpacking, and skiing.
Update: Annika will be returning in June 2026! However, she may pop in for a week or two before then. We are SO excited for her to return!
Kate Way
Kate is an occupational therapy student at Muskingum University and will be completing a 12-week fieldwork at our clinic from March to May/June 2026! She is eager to learn and grow alongside the children and families she will work with. Kate loves supporting children and young adults as they explore the world in ways that feel meaningful to them. Born and raised in Alaska, she is thrilled to be back soaking up the natural beauty of home! In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, reading, baking anything sweet, and spending time with her puppy, Sammy.
We are so excited to have her as a student!
Patrick Higgins
Patrick is an outdoor education expert who assists in our community sessions including rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, snowboarding, swimming, and more! He is a certified instructor in all paddle sports, as well as downhill skiing and snowboarding. You can find him whitewater kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, sea kayaking, surfing, biking, and more when he is not working with us, Higgins Outside, Hilltop Ski Area, or Alaska Pacific University.
